Laurence designs every piece herself. She draws on the colourful harmonies and textural depth of the natural world, especially the sea and marine life: coral formations, subaquatic palettes, the shifting colours of water. Those references run through every collection in the textures, shapes, and combinations of stones.
Once a design is finalised, the work moves to the atelier. Our team of artisans assembles, sets, and finishes each piece by hand, which means your jewellery carries the small variations that machine production cannot replicate. The process is deliberate and unhurried. Each stone is selected for its colour and character first, and then the piece is built around it.
This is what we mean when we use the word handmade. It is also why we work in limited quantities rather than mass runs.
The Materials We Work With
The materials we use are chosen for both their beauty and their wearability. We work with semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls, and a non-allergenic sterling silver base, and every component has a reason for being there.
Semi-Precious Stones and Pearls
We work with semi-precious stones, including agate, turquoise, lapis lazuli, mother of pearl, and freshwater pearls. Every stone is ethically sourced from sustainable suppliers. Because these are natural materials, no two stones are identical: colour, veining, and inclusions vary from piece to piece, which is part of what gives each Laurence Coste piece its individual character.
Non-Allergenic Sterling Silver Base
All of our pieces are made on a non-allergenic sterling silver base, with gold plating for our gold-toned collection. Sterling silver is durable, lightweight, and comfortable against the skin, which means you can wear our pieces all day without irritation. We never use nickel or other common allergens.
Clip-On and Pierced
Many of our earring designs are available in both clip-on and pierced versions, so you can wear bold statement earrings regardless of piercing preference. The clip-on mechanism is built into the design from the start rather than added on, which means the fit is considered and the wearability is the same as our pierced styles.

Alongside the main collection, Laurence creates bespoke costume jewellery for clients who want something entirely their own. This is a service she runs personally, working one-to-one with each client.

You meet Laurence at one of her boutiques to talk through your ideas, the occasion or feeling you want the piece to capture, and the stones you are drawn to. From there, she helps you choose the stones, shapes, and settings that complement your features, colouring, and personal style. For earrings, you can also decide whether you would like them as clip-ons or pierced.
We also offer a Special Order service, which lets you customise existing Laurence Coste designs rather than commissioning something entirely new. It is a quieter way into bespoke for clients who already love a particular piece but want it adjusted to their preferences.

Jewellery should last, which is why every Laurence Coste piece comes with a 6-month warranty and access to our lifetime care service. We will restore, re-gild, or restring your jewellery at any point, even years after purchase. If a piece needs attention, bring it to any of her London boutiques in Chelsea, Sloane Square, or Mayfair, or contact us to arrange a repair.

Three London Boutiques
Each Laurence Coste piece is made for someone, and our boutiques are where most of those conversations begin. Our styling team is trained to help you find pieces that suit your features, skin tone, and colouring, which means a visit is worth the trip even if you already know exactly what you like.
The original boutique opened on Walton Street in Chelsea in 2006. We have since added two further boutiques in Sloane Square and Mayfair, and bespoke consultations can be booked at any of them.
